This meeting follows the line of work undertaken at the I International Workshop on Digital Art History, held in Malaga in September 2011, one of the outcomes of the memorandum of understanding signed between the University of Málaga and the Getty Research Institute. This was followed by the 2nd worskhop, Digital Art History Lab, which took place in Los Angeles in March 2012 and. The 3nd took place again in Malaga in June 2013 under the title «History of Art and Digital Media in Spain. Where Are We? Where Are We Going?»
This meeting pursued two main objectives: to bring to a light those research and projects developed in the area of convergence between historical-artistic studies, computer technology and digital media; and set up a forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences that can be maintained in time as a specialized community of reflection and work.
The keynote speeches were delivered by prominent specialists in the field: Maximilian Schich (University of Texas) and Alexandra Saum-Pascual (University of Berkeley). In addition, the first results of the Exhibitium Project were presented within the framework of the conference.
